Our History
Dapto Swimming Club was established on July 19, 1965, and held its inaugural annual general meeting to form a committee on 15th September of the same year. The Club's first PointScore event took place during the subsequent summer season. In 1968, the Club made its debut at the summer Country Championships held in Tumut, represented by three swimmers.
The Club has always embraced the philosophy of fostering a healthy and enjoyable environment for community swimmers while instilling the self-discipline necessary to compete at the highest levels of the sport.
Our Constitution includes the following statement:
“The objects of the club shall be: to promote, teach, and encourage the arts of swimming and lifesaving. To stimulate public opinion in favour of providing proper accommodation and facilities for swimming.”
The current committee upholds this philosophy, striving to create a family atmosphere through Friday Club Nights and collective support for our swimmers at various swimming carnivals.
Dapto Swimming Club is dedicated to supporting each of our swimmers, regardless of their skill level, while fostering a sense of teamwork and encouragement among all members.
Our club embodies a family atmosphere, committed to helping our swimmers excel both in the pool and in their personal lives.
At Dapto Swimming Club, we not only support those who compete at Country, State, and National levels, but we nurture swimmers developing their skills to become representatives. Additionally, we welcome those who swim for enjoyment and wish to be part of a team.
Our club boasts a rich history within the community and has produced swimmers who have proudly competed at Regional, Country, State, and National levels.
